I've tried inserting it in Sitebuilder and inserting HTML code and neither method makes the hit counter show up on the page.

  1. You arent going to like it, but hit counters suck. All it takes is one visitor to sit there with their finger on the refresh button and suddenly it spikes up 1000. Use site statistics for better reporting.

  2. Had the same problem.  Found out that Internet Explorer 7 is not compatible with JavaScript, which powers the counter.  So I deleted IE 7, which slung back to IE 6 and my counter began showing hits.

    Go to Start

    Click on Control Panel

    Click on Add/Remove

Click on the Internet Explorer 7

    Click Remove.

  3. Yes Java is used in IE7 as well as all browsers, just make sure it is enabled. It has to be enabled to show your counter.

    Hope this helps
