Why doesn't my little sister like it when....?

I tell her she's beautiful.......the other day she got all dressed up to go to a formal party...and I told her " you look so beautiful" and she replied " stop...leave me alone"....everytime I compliment her she seems annoyed....why is that??? Btw she's 14

Because, at that age, when siblings tell that, that is embarassing and you are supposed to say that to sisters, so she thinks your lying

Because you're her older brother and she thinks you're mocking her.  I was the same way with my brother.

She is only 14 years old, and doesn't know how to take compliments yet, I used to get lots of looks at that age, and I hated it..and it was just guys driving by..got me mad, I don't know why...but now, where are those guys...hahahahaha...just kidding

Well at about the age of 11-17 girls don't take that as a compliment from their family because they think you are lying because that's the kind of thing we think ya'll are suppossed to say.. I do that sometimes but I really don't know why.. I guess girls are just that way.. but just know that she really does appreciate you.. it's just a hard time at that point because we are worried about stuff like what people think and if the family likes it .. we don't think the guys/girls at school would.. It's just a girl thing. And you sound a whole lot nicer than my brother.. He doesn't compliment me at all >=( But enough about me..
