Why doesn't my new group show up in the directory?

I just started a group and a friend of mine was searching for it on the main yahoo page and it is not listed...is it because there are no members yet?

Most probably it is because of the following reason:

"It’ll get listed in the Yahoo! Groups directory within a few days, in the category that you select during the set-up process. Occasionally, our team of category editors comes across groups they feel have been miscategorized, and if this happens with your group, we’ll let you know."

it takes yahoo a while to update their pages. before you know it, it'll list :)
