Why doesn't my wedding dvd have sound?

I just got my wedding video a coupe of days ago and there is no sound. I put in my dvd player and for the first couple of seconds you can hear noise then everything after that is silent. I can watch the whole dvd, you just can't hear anything. I talked to the guy who did it and he said the original copy and the copy I have had sound on his computer. When I tried to play it in my computer is says it is a blank dvd R. But it plays in my dvd player. I checked to see if it was the dvd player but it wasn't. I checked by putting in another dvd. Another ideas on why this happened?

i think something wrong occurred during the copy of DVD.
