Why doesn't the ARMY have reserve infantrymen but the MARINES do?

  1. Because the Army Reserve is organized as Combat Support and Service Support units.

    The National Guard provides Combat Arms units.


  2. Because the Marines train both reserve and active duties the same when it comes to marksmanship. It makes sense to have better shooters as infantryman even if they are reserves. The Army trains their guys differently, not necessarily lesser in the marksmanship but not as good as most marines. So, the army is a little more versatile and would rather use their men for support positions instead of strictly fighters.

  3. In the Army the Reserve is the tech jobs, and the combat arms are part of the Guard.

  4. because the armys infantry is so bad as we dont need a reserve unit.
