Question:

Why doesn't the Avast Virus Chest won't let me put viruses in there?

After I scan with Avast, its shows the scan results and when i choose to put the file/virus in the virus chest it would say 'Virus chest server is not running. RPC communication failed.' ...

So how do I fix this problem? Or... do I delete the file/virus instead?

  1. Why are you trying to keep the virus?  Do you plan to send it to someone for study?  If not, then it's taking up space on your hard drive...

    DELETE that bugger, everytime!

  2. Ok...got the solution.

This is mostly caused by a corrupted file that operates the Virus Chest.  I suggest you go to: Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs >> Avast! Antivirus>> Change/Remove >> Repair.

If this does not work, then I suggesst you reinstall it or go to http://forums.avast.com and search up the problem.

It is smart to put things in the Virus Chest if you're not sure if it is really a virus or not.

Wish you the best of luck.
