Question:

Why doesn't the DTS and WMA Pro 1.5Mbps setting on the 360 HD DVD add on not work?

When I set my 360 HD DVD add on to DTS or WMA Pro for the digital audio output, my home theater system doesn't work, when set on stereo or DD 5.1 it works fine though, I have it running through an optical cable from the 360 to the receiver which is the only cable that can carry the signal (my HDTV doesn't have an optical input/output, receiver has no HDMI input)

  1. Does your receiver have the capability of decoding DTS?

One way to find out is looking for the DTS logo on the front of the receiver, usually within vicinity of the Dolby Digital logo.

In addition, WMA decoding by an external device with the data feed from the digital output requires a receiver that has Microsoft WMA support so older receivers may not recognize and, therefore, not decode the feed.  This is especially true if the receiver only has PCM and Dolby Digital support.

  2. Yup...

    Its not encoded in DTS

Therefore it won't decode in DTS

But if you tell me what kind of components you have...

    I could tell you why.

    Good luck
