  1. because they will never be better than the FMF

  2. Thank you for the protest! I have sent numerous emails and posted blogs to no avail.

  3. Because the MLS only have 14 teams. There are a few reasons:

    1. MLS and the USL have different ownerships.

    2. $40 Million is the going rate for an MLS expansion team (why would they pay that to get regulated after its first season?)

    3. MLS is trying to grow it fan base not get fans then demote its club. (that system will not work in the USA)

    4. MLS has a strict salary cap with a DP rule.  While the USL doesn't have a DP rule.

    5. Different players unions that have different CBA's.

As well as other reasons.  If that system was going to happen they would have had to do it from the beginning.

  4. because no one cares enough about soccer. no one would go watch a 2nd div. team. the talent pool would be so dilutes as well.

  5. they dont have enough teams

though i always wanted to see that

but that wont happen in like 15 years

also they dont want to lose teams they want to gain teams

  6. Because if they'd had it last year the league's flagship team the Galaxy would now be mired in the USL.....

  7. None of the major sports in the US use relegation/promotion system at all. I expect the audience/fans would not really appreciate it all that much, especially new fans.

Also where would they get relegated to? Is there even a lower league that is good/organized/financially stable enough to partner with MLS? I doubt that any newly promoted teams from a lower league would come up to MLS with the fan base, stadium or funds to really compete results wise or financially with established MLS teams.

It would be a worse version of what happens in England where the newly promoted teams just go straight back down, except my guess is it would also lead to lower ticket sales overall and even fewer new fans getting interested in MLS.
