Why doesn't the USA use the metric system? i just feel left out

whenever i hear things from other countries its all in the the metric system and since i dont know anything about the metrc system i dont know what they are talking about. anyone else feel this way?

Because we're not 'joiners'.  Go ahead and use it anyway.  It screws with people's heads.  Some states use it along with the US system, like Arizona, on their street signs.
