  1. maybe its not time for maintenance yet?

  2. either your car is running good and has no major problems or the light burnt out. like the other guy said.

  3. because its a honda and they run forever! seriously, i had a 95 ex coupe that went to 190,000 miles before i had to do any major repairs. i put a new clutch in it, re-ringed the pistons, and put in new bearings and gaskets because it started burning oil and it didnt change after new valve guide seals and failed a compression leakdown test. i never even had to replace a single sensor on that car.

  4. one it could have a burnt out light or fuse or two you don't have a major problem with your exhaust system that normally sets that off three maybe you should be happy you don't have a major repair.

  5. The light is not there to tell you it is time to do maintenance. It is there to tell you there is something wrong with the emissions control system.

If you do not have trouble with your emission controls, the light will not come on, no matter how bad the rest of the car gets.

It is there as it is a legal requirement to make sure you do not drive a car that is dirty.
