  1. i believe the birth title sticks, plus the queen "rules". In all truth in a parlimentary monarcy the parliment holds the most power. I'm not sure you can be the queen's husband in one country and rule your own less you merge the countries. In that case i think that he would be king and she would be queen......... This is mostly a guess aside from the parliment part which i think is true or pretty close.

  2. No, because Elizabeth was already the second in line when her father reigned, and probably perhaps because Greece is much smaller than Great Britain.

  3. OMG why can't this repeated question die, use the d**n search function thats what its implemented for.

  4. The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philiph, and The Queen are both great-great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria. The Duke is a direct descendant of Princess Alice, the third child of Queen Victoria. The Queen is a direct descendant of Queen Victoria's eldest son, Prince Albert Edward (later King Edward VII).

In 1939, when Elizabeth was 13, she met her third cousin, Prince Philip of Greece. It was love at first sight, at least on Elizabeth's part. In 1946 she became secretly engaged to him, and married in 1947. In 1952, King George IV died, then Princess Elizabeth became Queen. Prince Philiph will never be called King because he is not a direct blood descendant of the previous King, (or Queen).

  5. I have answered this question so many times!

The Queen was the heir to her father King George VI;Philip is the spouse of a reigning queen and cannot have a title higher than the monarch's.There is no equivalent title of King Consort for a husband to a reigning queen because the title king implies a monarch and won't do because the queen IS the monarch.Philip was not the heir to the Greek throne either;one of his cousins became the monarch and lost the throne during a vacation. The ex-king was ousted from his position and could not return to Greece;Greece is a republic.

To better his chances of marrying Elizabeth,Lord Louis Mountbatten had Philip give up his Greek title and become an English citizen.Upon marriage,Philip became Duke of Edinburgh;after ten years of marriage he became a prince of the United Kingdom.

  6. Where on earth did you learn to spell?

The Queen is the reigning ruler, because she inherited the throne from her father, King George VI. Prince Philip married her, and so cannot be called king, because that would outrank her. He was never in line for the throne of Greece.

  7. What is the saying about if you give monkeys typewriters, they will eventually come up with works of Shakespeare?I think that this question is a practice piece.

  8. A King can make a Queen, but a Queen can't make a King. It has nothing to do with nationality, it is tradition. Even if he was born in England he still wouldn't be king.

  9. because he has married into the family, and not because of birth, his status is king. a man who marries a woman that is queen because of her birth cannot be king, only prince. a woman who marries a king can become queen though, as queen isn't as high a status.
