Why doesn't the sun melt the clouds?

If the sun can give humans sunburn on the ground then why can't it melt clouds that are up waaay higher and are made from water?

  1. clouds are water vapor not ice....the vapor condenses and forms water condensation which is the clouds....without the sun heating them up there would be no clouds because there wouldnt be water vapor.....


  2. Melting refers to the process of transforming a solid to a liquid. Clouds are made of water vapor, which is a gas. You can't melt gas!

  3. Clouds are water vapor, a lot like steam.  The sun has already heated up water somewhere and it's gone to the sky to create the clouds.
