  1. Zosh :

I've been to Nigeria in 2006. It is one of the most corrupt places that I have ever seen.  Everybody is on the take and getting a Government official to actually do their job, requires a cash bribe.

As for email scams, it's a world wide problem. Don't open any  where  you don't recognise the senders name.

  2. Nigeria is a country. It's a place. It doesn't send e-mails. There are some criminals living there - and lots of other places too - who try to take advantage of stupid, greedy people by sending them scams via e-mail. This is a world-wide problem.

It's illegal, even in Nigeria to do this. But how do we find these people and how do we put a stop to them? They don't exactly share their personal information very readily, y'know!

There has been some success, especially when they hook up with someone in another country to help with the scams. A woman in Washington was just arrested for passing bogus checks as a part of a Nigerian e-mail scam. But Nigeria itself has got much bigger problems than going after crooks who bilk American morons out of their savings accounts.

I love the stories of some people who have managed to turn the scam back around on the scammers. They will make them jump through all sorts of hoops in an effort to get their money, only to end up being told they themselves have been duped. The sad part of this is, the people writing the e-mails and taking part in these activities are themselves victims of poverty and ignorance. It's a sad situation all the way 'round.

  3. probably because we do the same thing only on a grander scale

  4. what do you want to do invade another country????????????????over e-mails????????

if your not an idiot, you will not fall for any scam........................they are all something for nothing...greed!...........

buy lottery tickets or marry rich!

  5. Bigger fish to fry than scam email.

  6. The Nigerian government isn't writing those emails, it's the citizens. People all over the world send scam emails, so it wouldn't make sense, just going after one nation. Plus, people should use common sense while reading the scam emails. It's partially our fault when we're gullible enough to believe them.

  7. We are enjoying these e-mails so much that its a real same to stop them. does anybody really take them seriously, cause if only 0.0000001 % did, they would probably justify the effort in such imaginative writing!
