Why doesn't this person get the hint?

Why is it that I get stuck around people that just can't take a hint that I don't want to talk to them anymore? This person will call and always leave the same generic message like "hey we need to hang soon, haven't heard from you in a while" and it gets so annoying.

Wouldn't the fact that I ignore all messages and calls be enough of a clue? LEAVE ME ALONE.

Do you have people like this? What do you do to get rid of them?

Trying to get rid of people is not such a good idea, you want to lose all your friends? Listen, you seem young. It looks like they are annoying you now, but you have no idea how much it helps to always get along with people. You never know who you´re going to meet again in the future and always been nice helps so much in the future. If you don´t want to hang out with someone just talk with them a bit over the phone, make up excuses, but don´t let them know you´re upset.

Well, you're right -- some people just don't take "hints." You'll have to be more direct. Try calling them back and say something like, "thanks for calling, but the thing is I'm really busy and I really don't think I'll have any time to hang out - but thanks for asking, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I'm just REALLY busy." Try and let them down easy. If they keep calling - just delete the message - they're bound to get the hint EVENTUALLY.

I have had people like that...but if I were you (this is what i did...it may be a little immature lol but whatever) what you do is next time they call answer and be like "Im sooo glad you called! My number is changing to [give a random phone number] we definitely should get together soon! but I have to go. Give me a call sometime!"
