I mean, why does time keep going on and on? Is time really supposed to be measured?

  1. i'm reading a book about big bang cosmology that argues that time is an actual infinite and yet it can't be, that it's only a potential infinite that started when the universe did. it's confusing and really interesting to try to think about.

in my personal opinion, time doesn't actually exist. it's a figment of human imagination. we have simply devised a number that tells us "how long" it's been since, for example, you woke up this morning. or since you last ate something. time isn't a measurable quantity. it's bigger than we are. the first humans got along without clocks or sundials or any other way to tell time. and they lived. and they reproduced and continued on to evolve down the road into us. they didn't even know that time existed, yet they still existed. which seems (to me) to prove that time doesn't exist, it's just something created by modern humans. and if it doesn't exist, then it can't stop. because stopping implies that it's an actual physical quantity and entity, which it isn't, so it can't actually stop. or if you look at it the other way, if it doesn't stop, then it can't exist. and if it doesn't exist, then it isn't real and is never capable of stopping and we will never know about it, because it is not real. and time can't exist because how can one say that time ever started? if you can't pinpoint when it started, then it isn't possible to say that time started at a certain point. and if it never started, then it can't ever stop. again, time as an actual infinite versus a potential infinite. and so, in conclusion, time doesn't exist and never actually did exist, and so it has neither started nor ever will start, and in conjunction with that, it never has stopped nor will it ever.

  2. time doesn't stop bcoz world doesn't stop

if world stops ,time also stops

and wo can't measure the ti,e

  3. How do we know it doesn't stop?  Maybe it does but we don't notice it (and can't measure it) -- haven't you ever looked up at a clock and been surprised that only 5 minutes has gone by because it felt like a lot more than that??

or maybe when time stops, everything else stops too... we could be "frozen" for a millennium and not know it because time has stopped...  but wait, would it be a millenium if time had stopped...

Really messes with the mind, doesn't it.  :-D

  4. can you measure your life? thats the answer for your question. If its yes, that means you're able to measure time. If its not, then it'll be the oppposite.

  5. well scientificaly it cant be proven whether time stops because as sonn as time stops we will to. but there is a myth that a god that is in the shap of a small man or women controls time. if this person stops mmoving completly, as long as they dont move, time wont eithier. its just a myth tho. so.

  6. actually we are making time to move.it dose not move for all creatures in this world.

  7. time is just a measure. like Kg for heavy, and so the time. time is measured to define how long an event was going on. its jus a term that human made. actually, in the modern phisic, all of measure is relative but light's velocity. that einstein's says. so its depend on the subject. if some one need to know how long an event was going on, they need to know time measure. if you don't need to know that, for you, time is not exist. so its all relative but light's velocity. its up to you fellow.

  8. it does called a clock stopping
