Why doesn’t Lambert play at a higher level?

Southampton striker Rickie Lambert has 19 goals to his name so far this season – a superb return having only joined the club in August – and is League One’s leading scorer.

The 27-year-old was a tremendous goalscorer for both Rochdale and Bristol Rovers. Surely a Championship side will soon come knocking?
