Why doesnt Law Enforcement use Cats to sniff out drugs, weapons, etc... Just like they use Dogs?

Cats have a VERY strong sense of smell.

You can train it to meow a certain way when it finds its target. Just like dogs will bark.

Cats are VERY intelligent and fast learners. Many circuses use cats in many stunts and the cats learn perfectly.

Cats don't require much maintenance . Keep food and water around along with a clean litter box. The cost less to feed as well.

Just curious. I like dogs too

I just dont think its fair that cats arent given the same jobs dogs get

There's an old saying, "Dogs take orders, cats take messages."

Training a cat, generally, is impossible.  Dogs are easier to train and their sense of smell is just fine for the job.

Besides, K-9 is intimidating.  Nobody is going to surrender to a Persian or a Taby!

a dog can catch distinct odors better because their sense of smell is better than cats & humans

Because cats have very independent and individualistic temperaments, and likely would cooperate only when they feel like it. Not a good trait when you want discipline and reliability in an animal.

Cats like pot...very close to cat nip..a cat would never narc on a kindred spirit. Of course they wold sneak back later and claim it for themselves.
