  1. Vermont has plenty of chain restaurants in areas with denser populations during the ski season. One example, Killington and nearby Rutland, Vermont! Even more so in Brattleboro, Vermont, one of the first exits off of Interstate 91 traveling north from Massachusetts. Chains usually need a certain amount of traffic to make it worth their while, profit wise.


  2. historically VT has been anti-chain anything..it was almost WWIII when walmart tried to build there..just recently home depot was driven away from brattleboro, VT because the customers stuck with the local store---i think its becuase they dont want to compromise the quaintness that is vermont..read this article to get an idea of the locals mentality...
