Why doesnt WMP or Media Player Classic play my video from my camera?

Question

I have a canon sd1000. the video file is pretty large, about 900MB.

when i try to cut the video on my camera itself, it would not save as a NEW file. the camera only asks me to overwrite the original file. The camera allows me to save other videos as NEW files, but not this one.

Pleae help!

you may be missing a codec on your computer, preventing WMP from playing the file.

my computer also doesn't let me play my video files on WMP for that reason.

try quicktime or another media player.
