My phone saves files in 3GP MP4 and/or AVI format, windows Movie maker doesnt recognise any of them, it plays the sound from AVIs and the others dont play at all, it imports them...but cant do anything more with them, is there anywhere i can download a codec for these formats or do i have to find a converter?

  1. You still need to convert your video files to AVI with codecs which are supported by Windows Movie Maker. I'm pretty sure MPEG-2, WMV, DivX or XviD should be fine.

  2. avi have different format, best thing that you can do is look for a converter, and convert it to raw avi or if there is an option to convert it to mpeg, its easier.

    hope this helps

  3. download vlc - probably some strange codecs on the mp4

otherwise get something that will play 3gp
