B/c it is not exposed to oxygen in the bottle like it is when it is applied.

its because of the material that the bottle is made up of.

Because, the glue in the bottle does not have any contact with air. That's what the lid is for!

Glue is a chemical activated by Oxygen.  It won't set up until it reaches air.  Glue botttles are air tight with little tiny check valves (one way flow) on them.  If your glue sets up in the bottle it is because the bottle has a leak.

I kid you not I was thinking about this the other day when I tossed out a bottle of hair gel that had been under the sink so long I had forgotten it was there. So I did a little search and found an old yahoo answer

"Glue doesn't stick to the inside because in order to dry, glue must lose its moisture, and it cannot while still inside of the bottle. Leave the top off and the whole thing will dry out and get stuck"
