Why doesnt he have eyelashes?

there's this guy i know who has eyebrows, facial hair & plenty of hair on his head, but he doesnt have any eyelashes whatsoever. i'm wondering why.....

They might be so small you can see them very well. Just like any hair on your body it can fall out for all kinds of reasons.

hypothyroidism is one.

I ran across an article about someone who nervously, compulsively pulled out his eye lashes.  He may have some anxieties, or mental health concerns they he doesn't want to share with anyone.
