  1. ERROR: 4280 - recording failed

From GEAR CD / DVD Software Support Knowledgebase

    Jump to: navigation, search

    Applies to Products: ALL

    Applies to Operating Systems: ALL

    Summary:

When attempting to record to a disc, the operation may fail with error:

4280 - "Optical Power Calibration area error"

    Cause:

Prior to starting the actual recording of the disc, the recorder adjusts its laser to correctly record the inserted media at the specified speed. If this operation fails, the recorder will return an error and the recording is aborted.

    Solution:

This error is normally caused by using bad or low quality media. It is therefore recommended to use known quality brand media or media which has been deemed compatible by the hardware vendor. Often a list of such media can be found in the recorder's user manual.

In some cases selecting a lower recording speed may also resolve this issue.

If the issue persists after switching media brands, then your recorder may be defective or may require a firmware upgrade. Please contact the hardware vendor and report the issue.

  2. It is probably because it is broken, mal-programmed or dusty. Try finding another program on the internet for downloading. Dust it (the entrance), or if that doesn't work buy a CD cleaning disc; the kind that will dust the interior of the drive. If all else fails buy another disc-drive. And after that, try, just for me, to spell properly and use punctuation. You really come out looking better in the long run.

  3. my sister had the same problem

there can be a couple of reasons

one reason can be becouse your e drive can be full

    or becouse your computer

    maybe your computer is broken

or now it doesnt accept the e drive

    it all depends

what year did you get your computer

maybe you need a new e dive

    if i were you

i would get a new e drive and if that doesnt work

than it has to be your computer you

get a new e drive then go to your friends house and then try

    it from there

if that doesnt work then it has to be your computer

    hopes this helps

  4. you broke it, or your E drive is screwed up, take it to a repair place

  5. maybe your E drive is full?

  6. Back in my day, we didn't have none of your fancy DVD_RW NEC whosawhatsitis. If we wanted to burn CDs, we took a match and did it. Manually. And we were happy to have matches, otherwise we had to rub pencils together, and pencils were expensive in those days.

  7. It's a fatal error. Your computer will explode roughly five seconds after reading this message.

  8. I would think that your burner is worn out maybe try to replace it
