Why doesnt my faceplate fit my phone??

I have a nextel motorola I850. i bought faceplates(full houseing kit) for it and the back goes on great but the front one will not fit. I dont see an way to take off the front original faceplate is there a way i can or do i have to leave it on?

I have that phone too. You can't take off the place on the front, only the back. Hope I helped!
