Why doesnt my laptop run fast?

my 1 year old laptop runs slower than our virus infefcted computer....what can i do to make it rune a little faster

Here are a few tips:

1. Run disk defragmenter

2. Run lavasoft adaware to check for spyware eating away at your CPU cycles

3. Your disk may need replacement

4. Get a memory upgrade

A bad battery probably isn't the culprit although it wouldn't hurt to replace this anyways.  

The most noticeable thing that you can do to make your computer faster is to install more ram.  If you only have 256 kb of ram, then there's your problem.  If you want it to go faster, I'd suggest a 1G chip.
