I cultivate the branches of trees and procces them and stack them on top of one another horizontaly and put a couple vertialcy too make it stand straight and wala you have a wall for house !

I know that branches dont grow straight but if you but the trees in metal like frames soo that the branches have no choice but too gorw straight , then you can cultivate them !

I also know that mayebe adding up the branches from the trees would equal a cut tree and wouldnt really help economize anything becuase its equal but I say bracnhes grow faster than trees a bracnh might take a year too grow but a tree takes from 40 - 50 too be in good age from turning into planks !

Im sorry i dont really know how too explain it i hope its understandable ill add more when i get my thoughts straight !

  1. think about it, if u cut down trees for a living wouldn't u want to replant them so u could cut down the ones u plant later.  if u just went around cutting down trees and not replanting u would lose money and run out of trees.  any business person would know that to stay in business u have to replant the trees

  2. there is alot of waste

  3. What you have to understand is that the lumber industry isnt the reason that trees are disappearing, its the farmers. In fact, the lumber industry replants what the cut down, because thats thier business. They have thier tree crops circulating and planned out for 50 years in the future.

    If anything lumbering promotes trees.

Its farmers who cut the trees down and clear the land. They are the reason for deforestation in the tropical rain forests and all the disappearance of trees that you hear about on the news.

Making houses out of branches is not the answer.

  4. your metal tube theory is interesting.  i guess you could make things grow straight be doing that, but how many metal tubes are you doing to make, and then how are you going to move them all around, and then where will the little squirrels live, they cant live on metal tubes.  and how will leaves grow out the branches if they are encased in metal tubes.

there are a lot of questions to be answered here.

lumber and paper companies own land on which they grow trees and then chop them down.  in america, much of these are on 11 year cycles, and they are mostly pine trees.  they plant 1/11th of their land with new trees every year, or their land would become barren.  the paper you buy for your printer and the 2x4's you buy at home depot are not from the rainforest, they are from pine forests in georgia, that are owned by paper and lumber companies that intend on staying in business, so they plant new trees every year to replace the ones they chop down, just like farmers plant new crops every year so that they can harvest something.  there arent too many farmers in america that just cut down a bunch of corn plants and then go elsewhere next year, looking for more corn plants to chop down.  similarly, lumber companies dont just go around and find new forests to chop down, they have to plant trees to harvest.

the land that is cleared is done for farming or building suburbs and such.

if you have some metal tubes that i can stick on my trees though, id like to try it.

  5. Because no one wants a house made out of branches.  You want a house made out of planks.  It's less drafty, requires less wood, and more sturdy.  Besides, the lumber industry is planting more trees than anyone else so they have something to cut down later.  That's why we have more trees around today than we did 150 years ago.

  6. OMG...

  7. Eri is correct.  Also, the lumber industry uses every part of the tree, including the sawdust, to make different products.  They don't waste a thing.

Edit:  Cingular - Sounds like you got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!
