Why doesnt somebody build a theme park about Dr. seuss stories?

and movies? i think it would be nice! imagine a roller coaster of the Grinch..or some kind of ride about the green eggs an ham..or a ride where you get in a speckle and you see the world huge and u see horton too.. it think it would be awesome!!!!

The answer is because of many things. One of these is because of economics. Right now, many people would not want to build any major amusement parks in the US, because the economy is so poor. Food prices are up because of ethanol (it uses corn, which makes corn syrup, which many products use), so many people would turn away from the prices of the park food. Also, the park would be expensive to build right now. Gasoline is expensive, and construction vehicles would be too expensive to run. another reason is because of publicity. Right now, he amusement industry relies on "Generation Y", or people in their teens, ar early 20's, because the "Baby Boomers" loved roller coasters, then the next generation didn't ("Generation X"). They lost many people because of that, so it is very important that the parks get as many of the newer generations as they can. Teens usually aren't interested in Dr. Seuss, and would not be interested in coming to the park. The new generation can not be very old, and most of them ar too short to ride rides, or are still afraid of amusement rides. It is all sociology. If you want a Dr. Seuss park, I would be looking for it in more than 15 years from now.

I saw a TV show about this question before.

Dr. Seuess' wife said something like she wasn't going to let anyone use the books as the theme for a new park.  It took universal while but they got through to her because she loved what they showed her and knows her husband would have approved.

So unless someone can completely out-do Universal (extremely doubtful) we won't be seeing a stand alone Dr. Seuss park.

Be happy with the one inside Islands of Adventure, it's great and captures the essence of Dr. Seuss and his books perfectly.

Plus, Universal has got to have some contract on it now.  So if anyone wanted to create a new park they would have to go through Universal first, and I doubt they would budge.

That would be good for kids but what about teens??? I'm sure they wouldnt want to sit on some ride talking about green eggs and ham.

That would be awesome! The question is though why won't you look into. You have a great idea! Run with it. I know I would be one of the first in Line because I love Dr. Suess and would love to ride a ride based on Green Eggs and Ham, that would be cool!
