  1. He went 10-6 last year in a pretty tough AFC.  That's pretty good.  His record for the 1st couple seasons is really bad because the Browns had little talent when he took over and it took about 2 years for the front office to get a competitive team on the field for him to coach.

If the Browns drop back to being a 6-10 team this year, Crennel will probably get fired.  If they continue to play well like last year, I think Crennel is going to be around a while.

  2. I'm confused. Cleveland improved to 10-6 last year (4-10 on '06) and just missed making the playoffs. The Browns have one of the most exciting offenses in the NFL and are making an effort to improve their defense. How does this warrant a Crennel firing?

Perhaps the better question would be why don't the Bears fire Lovie Smith? His ridiculous first name alone is grounds for terminaton.

  3. This year is make or break for him, if the Browns don't make the playoffs he will be fired.

  4. U didn't see how much they improved last year?? firering the coach doesnt always answer everything

  5. Were you living in a cave last year. Did you see what he did for the organization? His team went 10-6 and barely missed the play-offs to the titans. They now have a high powered offense and a nice defense.

  6. cuz he has a contract with them

  7. Why would they fire a coach that would have gotten them into the playoffs last year, if the Colts didn't lay down for the Titans in week 17 last year.  That team is up and coming especially on the offensive side.

  8. Because last year gave hope to the owners. looked rather well. this year, i give them at leist 1 play-off game, possible more. In their  division, this may be the year they over-take the Pittsburg Steelers. Good luck to them. From a Jags fan.

  9. have you seen the browns last season??? THATS WHY they kept him and they are right

  10. you can't judge him on that record the browns sucked when he took over and now they are great

  11. When he came to the team the team sucked! He is one of the main reasons for the browns turn around! He started coaching in the middle of a season after firing the head coach. The next year they still didn't have a good quarterback, no Kellen Winslow, ect. Last year they went 10-6. Give him a break!

  12. Romeo with the help of GM Phil Savage have turned that organization around and have finally fielded a winning team.

This past off season the Browns gave Crennel a contract extension so it looks as if he is there for a while. If the Browns would suddenly go back to their old ways with the talent they have you can expect the Romeo will be to blame and he will be fired.

  13. Stability is one. Since the Browns came back they haven't had stability anywhere. The players also love Romeo. They play hard for him. I don't think he's a great coach by any means but the players rally around him and love him.

  14. Because Romeo and Phil Savage have built a very scary team with an explosive offense and an improving defense...watch out for the Browns in '08

  15. Because they are looking at the result of not jumping off the bridge when they were doing the correct rebuild.

20-28, do you not realize that 10 of the 20 were last year alone?

    Previous two years, 10 & 22

    Last year, 10 & 6

Hmmmmmm, should we normally fire a guy who is moving a team in the right direction?
