Why don,t the ironworker union insurance take care of the retired ole bridgeman after he is retired?

  1. Because the UNION can't afford it.  It's to expensive - they can't raise dues high enough.

    Free market forces, ya know?  

    PLUS, here in the USA, we have welfare insurance to pay for retirees health benefits, called  Medicare.
