Why don't Americans consider buying an American made car ?

I know we've been burned in the past with quality issues from American auto manufacturers. However, if you study the quality numbers, American cars are right there with the foreign manufacturers. Why won't most Americans consider buying an American made car and supporting "made in the USA". Thousands of jobs are related to auto industry, if they go, so does the national economy.

For the most part it's because Japanese and even more so now Korean offer more features for the $. This is mostly because the big 3 have big contracts with the Auto Union, which FYI the j**s and koreans that have plants here don't have to adhere to for whatever reason I don't know.

Next is so called "Reliability". Japanese cars are perceived as being more reliable. In truth nowadays reliability of American and Japanese cars is very close and both are much more reliable than say 30 years ago.

By the way, why is it that you don't see that many Japanese cars in Europe if they are so reliable?

What most Americans don't realize is that the big 3 support more US jobs than the Japanese or Koreans, yes even when this car is assembled in Mexico or Canada. And yes even when the Japanese car is assembled in the USA.

Because these American cars will have American parts in them that come from American companies that hire American people.

So when you buy that new American car and you spend a couple thousand more on it, know that you're putting food on the table for 2.5 more Americans than you would if you bought foreign.

anymore all cars are made here and out of country we have Toyota factories and Nissan too most everything that use to be made here is over sees now so its mainly a political thing now

people do consider it and many people do but american cars... are outnumbered! there are so many options... also there is only one american luxury car prand.. cady! middle class people want a car that i luxury like benz and bmw

i have an american made car. i go thru so much gas and always gotta have somethin fixed.. i could get a forgien car, get good gas milage, and not have anything break for 15 yrs ya kno?

wanna kno the quality of a car?? look at its warrenty... kia 10yr.. toyota 10yr.. chevy i think is 5yr.. ford i think is 5 yr..

see wat i mean? i love my american muscle car but im also 18yrs old and the price to maintain the car is worth how cool i am in it lol. dont get me wrong, im as patriotic as the next guy and i love american made cars, but getting an import is def. more practical.
