Why don't Americans of European heritage return to Europe?

It appears as though Caucasians are not wanted in the United States.

Logic will tell you someone cannot return to a place they have never been. Regardless of our heritage we are legal American citizens. Just  who is it that doesnt want us? The only ones I could think of would be illegals and their opinion does not count.

americans of european heritage did not just migrate to america in the last decade. those who do have european ancestors migrated centuries ago. so, unless the descendants were faithful in keeping close contact with their european relatives from generation to generation, what is the point of going back? do they have somewhere to go back to?

besides, most of the europeans who migrated to america were the type who had nothing to go back to. they knew that they are most likely burning their bridges forever.

Actually, we are the ones who settled it.  And while the Mexicans claim they are the ones that did so, the history is far, far different.  And in fact, almost all the Mexican Nationals who came to the United States, came after the Mexican revolution.

But leaving is a good idea I am beginning to think.

Because our European heritage is irrelevant. It counts for nothing either here or there.  Because we are Americans, born and raised.

Same reason blacks, hispanics and asians don't return to the origin of their race. It's 2008... history is to be studied not relived. Besides we are America.

Well...they left for economic, religious, political reasons.....decades or even more than 1 couple of centuries ago!  Canadian/US people from British, Scottish, German, Norwegian, Italian, etc descent have absolutely no immigration status to stand on even if they WANTED to go back to Europe.

Cost of living is still insane, most of the people don't speak the language of origin anymore, have no one to sponsor them in to the country.

Besides....don't Americans born and bred love America and have no interest in returning to a country that, in most cases, even their GRANDPARENTS never knew?

Don't know what state you're living in but we are doing fine here.

Illegal immigrants aren't wanted here either, but you don't see them leaving,,,,,,same reasons, too. People here speak our language.
