  1. Because this idea doesn't help any of the people currently in power.  Duh.

The two party system is where experimental ideas go to die.

  2. Because it would totally suck after a week.  Everyone would forget about funding it, or not raise enough to fund it - if it even got off the ground in the first place.

Why would we want to do this?

  3. It doesn't work in any nation that has it.

  4. because i dont want to foot the bill for all the winos, addicts, smokers , slackers and illegal immigrants.

  5. Because one of the main contributors to the presidential candidates is the health care and pharmaceutical industries.

If i gave you money and you became president, you would obviously not do something to s***w me over. The world revolves around money.

    It will never happen.

  6. This would involve contribution from all americans if it was to be used by all Americans. In order to make this happen the government would need to be involved to ensure everyone contributed according to their means.

An alternative would be to set up a cooperative with voluntary contributions for people that wanted such a system.

Whether there would be any benefits to the individual over and above what they would get by investing in private healthcare insurance would only be seen if it ever happened.

One Question, Who would organise it???
