I must say there are a lot of areas in Australia, USA, and Canada that have English roots and ancestry, but New England impersonates England the BEST!

1) First off, most of the express highways that run through New England have backroads that follow parallel to the highways and represent the old winding rotary routes that go from town to town. Each town has a unique local flavor and excellent sea food. You quickly can go from mountains, cliffs, stone walls, castles, mansion homes, seaports, lush backroad scenery.

2) The population density and size is comparable to England with nice towns and changes of scenery over very short travel distances.

3) The food and farms are independent of global chains and many towns keep fastfood restaurants out to keep local mam and pap shops going.

4) Cambridge, Massachusettes, like Cambridge, England, is highly sophisticated and contains America's more intellectual colleges (Harvard, MIT, etc). And excellent medical research.
