Why don't Cigars have their own category on Y!A

They are not beer, wine, nor spirits. Why hide aficionados in a food category like a "red-headed step-child"?

  1. Probably because they are either anti-tobacco, because they didn't think it was a popular enough topic to merit a category, or because it simply never occurred to them.

I kind of like seeing cigar questions under Beer, Wine & Spirits because I read a lot of them and find often them interesting, but I wouldn't look under the cigar section if there were one. I can certainly understand why you'd want a place of your own, though.

  2. Several of the umbrella categories here on YA could use some tweaking, I agree.  Earlier I read by way of a similar but unrelated question the YA staff is aware that various people would like to see some of these changes but they're currently working on technical issues with the site which they have deemed more important.

  3. I wondered that too. Maybe it's because it's not "trendy" to talk about smoking anymore and Yahoo doesn't want to look like it approves of it.
