I used to get sore when I worked out but now I go to the gym EVERYDAY so I dont get sore. I keep thinking I'm not gonna gain muscle or get stronger if I don't get sore the next day or so.

Do I not get sore because my body is working out everyday or some other reason?

  1. Going to the gym everyday is not the right way to build muscle.

Weight lifting works like this, you lift a weight - rip the muscle and that muscle builds again. creating a bigger muscle. Obviously you need to eat a lot of protein and complex carbs to will the gap in the rip

Muscle can only increase during rest.. thus why it is important to rest.

    I tend to train 3 - 4 times a week with a strict program.

As for your soreness problem... if you have been training everyday you have already ripped your muscle and when you lift again you wont rip it again... you are just delaying your progress..

Also if you have been lifting for a while your body gets used to the strain and adapts. As long as you feel the burn whilst you are training and shortly after you are doing fine. If you feel you haven't worked hard enough consult EXRX.net and look at there exercise directory... there are hundreds of different exercises for muscles... Maybe your body is used to the same exercise over and over.

    thanks

  2. Your body is still building muscles but not as much as when you have the sore. I went to the gym too even though i'm a girl. I got sores the first time. I don't know if its normal for a girl to have kind of a hard belly lol. But anyways, you need to do more reps to build more muscles. Do more weights than the weights you normally do. Do something new and you will build faster. Trying something new is better. By the way, if you want to become stronger, Do karate or muay tai, kick boxing. I do those and also my brother. Even though you don't build alot of muscles it makes you strong and helps you learn cool moves. But don't be willing to show of to your friends unless they get you made. :D I'm 14 and guess what, i beat up a high schooler when i was in 4th grade. Pretty amazing huh? Thats what you get when you do tae kown doe. Right know i'm doing mixed martail arts. So it has everything. I'm pretty happy. You should do the same. :D

  3. Your body is used to the weight , you have to up the reps/weights to see improvement.*

  4. your not working oout hard enough

  5. you need to work out each muscle less often. you should only train each muscle 2 to 3 times a week. also, change it up all the time. the same workout everytime is not a good idea. keep your body on edge and make it adapt.

  6. it is becuase your body will get used to it and the muscles stop ripping you should take a 3 day break then continue

  7. Because you need to push yourself to the next level.

If you do the same routine day in and day out you will just be the same.

  8. Yes. You are correct. Your body has become acustomed to the exercise. You are still building muscles but just not as fast as you were when your muscles got sore.

  9. Your  Body is used to all of this , try challenging yourself more and experiencing new machines and workout routines .l  goodluck stud !

  10. You don't get sored because your body is now used to exercise. It doesn't mean you are not doing it right, it only means your muscles are finally adjusting to the effort.

If you stop exercising for a week or two and then restart, you will get sored at first, and then soring will stop.
