My girlfriend wants me to go to Dorney Park with her sometime. But, I don't like roller coasters. Im afraid that they might break, or my seat belt might come off or something. I never tried a roller coaster.. Should I at least try it?

Anything I can do to like roller coasters?

  1. Actually, I find that I feel more queasy when thinking about a rollercoaster or when i'm actually waiting in line to get on one. I was so scared the first time, but peer pressure and a friend who really likes roller-coaster helps a lot.

    Btw, any easy way to conquer motion sickness is to drink ginger ale, and try chewing gum on/or before the ride. Also, mint works too, hope this helps.

  2. The absolute best thing I've found for motion sickness is motion sickness bracelets.  They only cost about $10.  One brand is "Sea Bands" and you can find them in any pharmacy.  I didn't believe they would work because I had had motion sickness for20 years by the time I tried them.  But they do work.  I've only had motion sickness while wearing them at amusement parks (which I go to a lot) one time on the teacups at Disneyland.  I had ridden them before with the bracelets and they didn't bother me at all - just that one time.  All of the rides that used to make me sick don't anymore.  You do have to follow the directions.  Put them on in line (20 minutes before the ride) and just take them off afterward.  It's worth a try!

  3. Honestly, how often do coasters break? How often does someone die or get hurt on a roller coaster?

    ------------->Not often.

    Def. give it a try! Start with a small coaster (even if it's meant for kids) and work your way up.

    When you get on a coaster, look at all the happy kids comming off. It always makes me more relaxed.

  4. They are so much fun!!! Try it!!!

  5. First of all...are you afraid of heights? If not GO FOR IT! I love roller coasters! they are so much fun. If you did that for your gf that would be sooo sweet. But to answer your question...try going on small coasters like the one at wild waves if you have been there, its a good helper for the big one. I don't think you can do much to make yourself like them. Just go on it and keep your eyes open its so much funner...and at the end just reassure your self you had fun and your body will gradually accept what your telling it...Ive done it with rock climbing lol. but have one

  6. trust me i was exactly like u last year until i went to cedar point....well now evrytime i go to a themepark before i leave i take non-drowsy Dramamine until it goes away and then i take more. but u should totally go on a rollercoaster , i have to admit they are AMAZING. on my first really big roller coaster i cried until after the first drop. anyways you can find Dramamine almost anywhere. it works =] just conqeur your fears! hope i helped u!

    hope i helped

  7. I think everyone has those fears.........and if you get motion sicknoess take a pill i take one.....i used to think that they were scary and stuff but you go on a small on for your first time and then you build your way up.....you are missing out on the fun if you dont go.....just try it and make sure your seatbelt is on really good and watch people during the ride and when they get off that will tell you if you should go...TRY IT

  8. I agree with everyone else.  Keep in mind, some roller coasters really are a rough ride.  For example, I don't like wooden roller coasters at all because of the way they shake.  I'd definitely recommend starting with kiddy rides and work your way up to the big stuff.  Don't judge just by size though.  A huge roller coaster like Goliath can be very smooth while something small like the Ninja can be very rough.
