I'm very much a beginner when it come to DSLR, and I've been reading up on RAW images, and when I looked to set my image quality I didn't see that option. I have Canon Xti. Does my CF card have anything to do with it? I have a 2GB card..

  1. You have to put the camera in P, M, AV or Tv mode. The k**b on the top of the camera selects the 'mode' -- and you can't use the scenic mode (like "sport" or "flower" mode).

Then you'd find the setting via the LCD menu.

If I may suggest that you go over the manual (it's a dry reading, I know), but it will prevent you from being frustrated in the future. (This is fhoto's own words!)  :-)

  2. Also...have a look at the reference chart near the back of the book. It will show you at a glance, which functions are available in the various shooting modes (pages 158-159).
