Why don't I want to have good grades?

Question

I'm 13 and I have really good grades in school. Next year I'm going into grade 8, and I don't want anything to hold me back from making new friends. I am tired of being "the kid with good grades". Yet I love having good grades. I wish that there was a way I could keep my grades without letting people know. (mostly other students)

And please do not post answers like "Fail some tests"... Failing isn't an option for me.

People don't want to be your friend because you get good grades? They're stupid. Why would you even want to be friends with those types.

This has actually happened to me. Just play like your grades were no big deal, and kind of play brag with them. The reason that grades sometimes get in the way is that people start to think you're nerdy and only about the school. haha.. It's kind of a shame that i did this, but make it seem like you didn't study at all, the grades just happened, and only do well on the tests. Don't like raise your hand and stuff. Other than that, just act like a stupid kid, but get good grades. it works.

or if you'll hella smart, you could get BAD grades, then use photoshop to make them into good grades, and yuor parents AND yoru friends would be none the wiser.cause... 8th grade grades. don't really matter. unless you want to be valedictorian of the 8th grade (which won't make you cool) at graduation... that's about it. you just need to pass 8th grade to go into hs. and there, people probably won't care if you get good grades or not, as long as your cool

dont tell them your grades.and when you're in high school,trust me,being "dumb" or "not smart" is considered uncool...

Why would other people know your grades?  If you don't want them to know then don't tell them.
