If not rollbars, then why don't MurderBall players at least wear helmets?

The chairs flip over often and there is zero protection. What's the deal?

  1. Part of the draw of extreme sports is the risk to the athletes who participate. Why do people go to see boxing? NASCAR racing? Ultimate Fighting? One of the reasons, unfortunately, is the chance that someone will get hurt.

Probably the rules will change one day, like it did with Ultimate fighting. As you know, when it began, Ultimate fighting or MMA had very few rules. But with time and injuries, rules were forced on the sport. Perhaps the same will happen with Murderball.

  2. All of these people (In NZ anyway) are supported by ACC (Accident Compensation Corporation) who will do anything to reduce liabilities.....I guess they hope that any injury will be terminal and subject to just one last payout if anything

  3. The same reason the 7's and 15 man teams do not wear protective padding.     Rugby is a tough game in any form and that's how it should remain.     World rugby has enough of a problem with the ruling committee, the IRB, trying to turn the game into one for pansies so we don't need any more restrictions.
