Why don't anthropologists ever....?

Listen to the local people of these foreign-ancien places, when recording histories. Instead, they act like the local people know nothing about their cultures, heritage, etc. I think that's very arrogant.

  1. They do listen to the local people, unfortunately people often have their own motives in things so anthropologist are forced to take things with a grain of salt.

    They use broader generalizations rather than a single account, makes for more scientific evidence and easier understanding.


  2. The whole point of cultural anthropology today is gathering local knowledge, which entails listening and registering and understanding their histories and heritage and their world view.

    Maybe your just don't choose your anthrofriends very well...

  3. if you notice most of the workers in the digs are native to the country.  Egyptoligists always consult Zahi Hawass.

  4. Anthropologists have a history of making history fit in with their own requirments, and to h**l with the truth.

  7. anthrpology is currently largely devoted to that issue, your working from very old conceptions of ethnography
