Why don't baseball players ever step on the white line?

Ive never seen them do it, ive even seen them hop over it. Why is this?

  1. It is bad luck.

    I am superstitious also, when I played, never step on the white lines.


  2. Players develop all kinds of superstitions.  There is the accasional player who will purposely step on the line

  4. Baseball players are extremely superstitious, and stepping on the foul lines is typically considered bad luck. That one is pretty universal, but many of them also have other little quirks as well.
