I don't smoke but I've always wondered this because cigarette smoke smells so bad I assume it tastes bad too. I know there are menthol cigarettes but why not other flavors like fruit flavors as well. Is it illegal for cigarette companies to flavor there cigarettes becuase they will become more attractive to kids??

  1. I am not a smoker either but I think some cigarettes have nice smells, but only a small amount of it smells good. I am not aware of flavoured cigarettes but I do know that they have flavoured cigars.

  2. I know some companies in indonesia that make cappuccino flavor, mint flavor and now they are introducing strawberry flavor for women.

I don't think it's illegal but they may not do it because of the marketing side of it. (expensive to introduce something new)

  3. Russian "Sobranie" cigarettes come in different flavours.

And pipe tobacco comes in flavours like port wine, etc.

  4. because it smells so bad, no flavours can mask it!!

  5. because if you mix all the things then a flavor it would taste horrible... and even smell it..

  6. They do!  Menthol & clove are the only 2 "flavors" that I can think of, but each brand has a different "flavor" to it's tabacco.  That's why you've got some people who are die-hard Camel smokers and others who won't smoke anything but a Marlboro.

And then there are different strengths to the flavors, when you incorporate filter/no filter/100's.

I don't think they're not allowed to flavor their tabacco - pipe tabaccos have all sorts of different colors.  Walking into a tabacco store is a little like walking into a coffee shop, with row after row of big glass jars, holding the most aromatic tobaccos that can be used straight or blended by the user.

I think Camel was required to stop using their cute little Camel Joe guy because of the kid-factor.  I know that cigarrette companies have been strictly regulated in regards to their advertising, but I don't think flavoring tabacco is included in that.
