Why don't dogs always land on their paws?

  3. they don't have any perception of anything above their head (or below if they're upside down). because of this they don't know they are falling or that they are about to hit the floor.

    Another reason is that their spine doesn't have the flexibility of a cat's so they can't twist around to land on their paws as easily.

    there are probably loads more reasons but i hope i've answered your question.
