  2. That's a myth.  No animal has very good memory retention.  If you don't continually retrain a chimp they will forget all those tricks.  Same goes for parrots.  Only constant reinforcement allows them to make the same noise we call parrot speech.

  3. As the others have said, elephants are quite capable of forgetting.  In fact, it takes a LOT of persistance to get an elephant to remember anything at all; however, once you get a concept stuck in an elephant's brain, it DOES seem to recall it pretty well after that.

  4. Actually, they do.  In fact, many of them are quite forgetful!

  5. they do thats just a myth but in fact some of them can remember very well but it started up as a myth to dicourage the  poaching of them.
