  1. Because a huge amount of fast food service is drive-thru, so that wouldn't make sense to get a beer to go now would it?

  2. You need a separate license for this.  And in alot of instances, it is convenient.  Like for instance, nobody would go to Mc Donalds to have some beer.  So Mc Donalds would spend money for a license they cant use.  And not to mention, it would make them re advertise their position within the market, thus costing them money. And this would throw their regular advertising money into the waste bin.  It would be cheaper to open another restaraunt and buy a liquor license for that new business.

  3. My guess would be that it is fast food and it doesn't get out of your system quick enough so they don't want you to drink and drive.

To the other poster-If I was in Germany I would have did the same thing.

  4. beacause familys go there for dinner all th time

  5. "FAST food" as in quick, speedy, etc. You go in, you come out, you go on your way. You don't go on your way drunk.

  6. One reason is because they would have to pay their employees more.  They would have to be all over 18. No more 15, 16, 17 year olds.  Also you can't serve beer through a drive through.  Closed containers only.

  7. cuz it is fast and they don't want people slamming beers down. i think it is weird that peter piper pizza serves pitchers of beer though.

  8. Because they are family restaurants.

  9. Because you are not supposed to drink and drive.

  10. doesn'tt seem to be any real reason.

taco cabana (here in texas) sells alcoholic drinks, and its as fast food as it gets.

i think its just a business plan issue.  having so many stores, it would be really hard to keep a liqour licence to each invidual store.

  11. because mostly families go to fast food restaurants, and because like McDonalds does not want to see drunk people wandering around.

  12. they do in  europe and france.

america just has a different value system.

  13. Families go to fastfood resturants, so they would loose busniess

you dont drink and drive, but if you went to a fast food place, youve droven and your drunk when you leave

it costs money for a licence to selll alchaholic beverages, be it beer, wine or liquor. They dont wanna shell out the money.

  14. we don't want drunk people in fast food places.

  15. We'd have a lot of overweight drunk drivers now wouldn't we.

  16. We have a way of thinking about it that says you shouldn't.  They'd have a hard time getting the liquor license in most places.  Why do we have 'dry' counties in some places still?

Actually, I have had a beer in a McDonald's once.  It was in Germany.  I went in just to buy the beer, and just to have had a beer at McDonald's.  !

  17. I have had beer at a McDonald's in Toronto.

Most fast food places though want to be "family-oriented" therefore no beer.
