Why don't horses wear some type of leg braces or reinforcements to prevent injuries?

  1. There's no leg brace that is actually going to prevent a broken leg.  The horses would have to go around with big plaster casts on.  They couldn't run with the type of casts that they'd have to wear to prevent leg injuries.  Horses do wear leg wraps, but they're to protect the skin from scrapes and cuts that would happen from horses bumping together during the race.
