Why don't local candidates do more to raise consciousness among voters in elections?

I understand how the big boy system works, but I do not like it. Why don't grass roots groups and politicians work toward the education of voters in elections of such "small" things as county tax assesor, committee precinct representative, school council representative, and so forth?

I am so tired of going to the polls to be surprised by something that wasn't even in the news, the papers, not even on signs! When is democracy going to be more than just a nice set of ideas in America?

What I'm asking for, is for say, County Board candidates to actually work for the vote, not just sit back and let their friends and associates vote them in.

(((Sigh!)))

  2. Politics sucks & politicians even worse but yet we keep voting because what is the alternative.

  3. I agree.
