im not religious but this was interesting:

In the Bible's Book of Genesis, Adam's rib is removed to create Eve. Biblical Hebrew does not have a word for p***s. Some scholars (Gilbert and Zevit 2001) have suggested this story is an explanatory myth to explain the absence of a baculum in the male human, rather than a missing rib (in light of the fact that men and women have the same number of ribs).

  1. "Biblical Hebrew does not have a word for p***s."

What the f*ck? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Did they just point at it and look confused then?

  2. The simple answer is that there was no evolutionary pressure for humans to have a penile bone.

  3. that may very well be the only mistake that god ever made......

  4. oh boy, you are religious and don't know it.

just be glad you don't have a bone in it. or you do. or I don't know. your choice.

  5. Adam and Eve is bullsh**

  6. Because it would permanantly be erect?  That could cause problems.

  7. "It is absent in humans, equids, marsupials, lagomorphs, and hyenas"

Humans, unlike other primates, lack an os p***s / os clitoris. However, this bone is much reduced among the great apes: in many species it is a relatively insignificant 10-20 mm structure. There are reported cases of human p***s ossification following trauma,[4] and one reported case of a congenital os p***s surgically removed from a 5 year old boy, who also had other developmental abnormalities, including a cleft s*****m.[5]

"The zoologist Richard Dawkins speculated in 2006, that the loss of the bone in humans, when it is present in our nearest related species the chimpanzee, is probably a result of sexual selection by females looking for signs of good health in prospective mates. The reliance of the human p***s solely on hydraulic means to achieve a rigid state makes it particularly vulnerable to blood pressure variation. Poor erectile function betrays not only physical states such as diabetes and neurological disorders but mental states such as stress and depression.[6]"
