Why don't more fast food restaurants offer more fast healthy options?

  1. a lot of fast food restraunts have healthy options. most people don't go and read the menu on their website or order the fast food. Basiclly people fast food as to celebrate and blow your diet. and go to the salad bar for healthy food.

I'm all for that!  But the reason they don't (I think) is because healthy foods like veggies and fruits don't last as long as french fries and meat that can be frozen forever.  All fast foods are loaded with preservitives so they last longer.  Healthy foods aren't.  They'd lose money...and that's the bottom line...  I know that McDonalds did start offering more salads and bottled water after that "Supersize Me" movie.  They really took a beating for that.  Maybe we need to educate more people about the unhealthy food they eat when they go to fast food.  Then if people cut back on going, it will hurt their business, then they'll have to give the people what they want in order to stay in business?!

  7. Fact is, healthy stuff taste bland. People rather eat what taste good.

  8. I agree with you as well. The problem with "healthy" fast food options, is that they're really not healthy. For example, they might offer a salad, but it has fried chicken or fried noodles, bacon and cheese on top. The salad dressings are often fattening too. Even if you order grilled chicken sandwiches, it often comes with mayonaise or another fattening sauce....and you know how much they love it when you modify your order at fast-food places!

    My advice is that if you go to a fast food place, just order a sandwich, don't get the fries and soda as well.

  9. Read nutrition facts...many have fast healthy choices. You however, must take the time to educate yourself on each restaurants products.  Many people think sit down restaurant food is healthier than fast food, not true.  Look at portion sizes - way to large and way too much fat.....The best way is to eat heathy - prepared by yourself at home, in correct portion sizes and limit fast food or unhealthy food....but make wise decisions when eating out ,   and dont overeat
