  1. well when people in factiories waste alot of gas and it goes in the air and when people drive cars around also. When people LITTER in oceans and things its not good for the earth.

  2. Because it isnt

  3. I'm hoping that people are starting realize that global warming is happening, and it's cyclical (warming and cooling cycle over many millenia).  Also, that man's contribution to global warming is not significant enough to alter this cyclical climate pattern.  Cloud cover represents the largest percentage of insulating gasses (water vapour).  Can man stop clouds?

Al Gore's junk science calvacade must have something to do with people starting to find out for themselves, and not just re-spouting fear-mongering diatribe.

I believe global warming is happening.  I think man is powerless to stop it, and arrogant to think that he can by worrying about carbon emissions.  We're just a blip on the radar of earth's history.

  4. A. From what I see in the real world most people seem quite able to accept both GW and that we are the cause, it only seems to be on site's like this that the Anti GW movement seem to find a home From the surveys i have seen it is over 70%. The IPCC last report put the likelihood of GW being manmade at over 90%

    B. I assume you refer to the cooling theory of the 70's this is a myth. http://environment.newscientist.com/chan...

    C. This my very well be true but doesn’t affect GW one way or the other, the theory was around before him.

advnturer: I don't claim to Prophet but the answer is quite simple Mars atmosphere and climate is completely different to Earths, the claim comes from the denier camp as further proof that the Sun is the cause, only problem the Sun isn't warming this is documented fact.

  5. Global warming of the earth in the last millenium have been caused by volcanic eruptions, and meteors.  The industrial age in the US started in the 1800's.  What caused the warming of the earth before that time?

  6. or D, none of the above. this is true because we, A; don't want to believe we could cause the end of days, B; Like the Bush/Satan administration, the government and us don't want think it is even REAL, or C, people aren't educated enough about it.

  7. Because NASA says the Sun, not man is responsible for the warming.

I trust NASA scientist more then the yahoo's on this board!

  8. d) none of the above.

unfortunately, the people that dont believe humans are making global warming worse, are the ones that have not seriously looked into it. whether they are willing to admit it to anyone or not is another story. they listen to the news, watch al gore's movie, watch certain television networks, and refuse to do any research on their own. they rely on the media to tell them what they want to hear, and depending on which media they are listening to will determine what kind of information they get. global warming is a problem, and although people are not the sole cause of it, we are still contributing to it in a huge way. its not as easy as saying the average temp has shifted, or the poles are melting. unless people get more interested in learning the truth, and doing their OWN research, they can't have a valid opinion. i stopped letting the deniers bother me, because i know they dont know what they're talking about. i know what i believe. all we can do is offer the information and hope they listen. honestly nothing in life bugs me more than people criticizing things they dont have all the facts for. you have no right to an opinion if it's an opinion based on nothing but other peoples opinions.

sorry for the rant. sensitive subject for me :o)

  9. Global warming is a farce. Our buying into global warming hysteria will allow politicians to do just about anything, upon which they can muster a majority vote, in the name of fighting climate change as a means to raise taxes.

  10. I don't know, the real truth is that the abundance of people on the Earth is because of global warming.

  11. Mostly it's denial.  They don't want it to be true.  Usually I don't reference Al Gore, but his film 'An Inconvenient Truth' was very appropriately titled.  If the scientific evidence is right and we're responsible for most of the recent warming, we need to significantly change our behavior and get off our addiction to fossil fuels if we're going to avoid the worst impacts of global warming.  Because we're so dependent on fossil fuels, this will be extremely inconvenient and difficult.

Some people would rather remain in denial than change their behavior.

There is also a significant percentage of people who simply don't understand the science and either don't trust the scientific experts or believe the myth that there's significant debate in the scientific community about what's causing global warming.  Many of these people listen to Rush Limbaugh and other right-wing pundits who spread these myths.

Advnture is a perfect example.  He says "until someone can link the fact that Martian poles are shrinking at a similar rate as the Earth's and how can our activity on earth be causing it, or convince me that it is difference science at work, I will not be believing the religion of Global Warming."

For starters just one of the Martian poles is shrinking.  The other is growing.

Even if Mars is warming, we are obviously not causing it.  If anything, dust storms darkening its surface would be causing warming on Mars.

    http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/...

But he heard that Mars is warming at the same rate as Earth, probably from someone like Rush Limbaugh, and instead of researching the science he just believed the myth.  It took me about 5 minutes to find the 2 articles linked above, but advnture wouldn't even make that much effort because he'd rather remain in denial about global warming.

  12. C.) is the closest.

If I could get a Global Warming Prophet to answer one question reasonably, then I might change my mind, but until someone can link the fact that Martian poles are shrinking at a similar rate as the Earth's and how can our activity on earth be causing it, or convince me that it is difference science at work, I will not be believing the religion of Global Warming.

I do agree with Elise pollution is a problem that needs addressing, but that is totally different than throwing humans back to the stone age in the hope they can stop natural cycles of weather and getting the American citizens to pay for it for the rest of the world.

  13. I've been reading a lot of the global warming answers and I've come to the conclusion that there are 3 major socialists who give answers in this section, but I won't mention their names because I know they will report me.  That's what liberal socialist fascists do when people expose them for who they really are.

They don't like freedom of choice, don't want people to decide for themselves and insist that everyone follow in lock-step with the politicians and their agenda.  They use words like "consensus" because they don't like dissent or debate about their beliefs.

Maybe they should try living in a socialist dictatorship for a little while and see if they still believe in suppressing freedom. I think it might improve their perspective a lot.

  14. Because of all of the cool things that we find in glaciers.

People back then didn't have the technology to cause global warming or a climate shift, and it happened. It will again.

HOWEVER... if you've ever been to CA, then you will know that something HAS to be done to curb pollution!

  15. Global Warming is very dangerous. We humans have to stop it! Thanks.
